Founded in 1882, Lüchow's was located at Irving Place in the East Village of New York City. Lüchow's served authentic German cuisine and their wine cellar stocked with the finest European wines. Notable regulars included Theodore Roosevelt, Irving Berlin, Victor Herbert, J.P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, and more! One of the biggest attractions at Lüchow's was the nightly lighting of the Christmas tree, which began around Thanksgiving and lasted until New Year's.
