Opening its doors in 1904, the 5-star St. Regis Hotel is one of the most iconic hotels in the world. The St. Regis has welcomed world leaders, dignitaries, royalty, and Hollywood icons. Famous guests have included Amelia Earhart, Jackie Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor. Howard Hughes kept a permanent suite inside the hotel during WWII. The Hotel's King Cole Bar has remained a New York institution. In 1934, legend has it that bartender, Fernand Petiot invented a drink called the "Red Snapper," which is now known around the world as the Bloody Mary.
